Some  guest experiences

'Chassenat is an elegant but relaxed home where light, space and quiet come together to create the perfect atmosphere for an idyllic holiday. The high ceilings and massive windows make the expansive rooms of the house feel very inviting.  The furnishings in the common areas are very comfortable and work well for large groups to dine and chat.

The bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms are equally large, bright and well laid out, and far enough from each other to offer maximum privacy. The gardens include private little sitting areas for a quiet tête-à-tête, open spaces for children to run around and a lovely dining area with a backdrop of flower gardens and a working fountain. The pool is large with open views across the property and a lovely, comfortable sitting area with umbrella where you can while away a few hours with friends and family. As you arrive at Chassenat, you are filled with a sense of tranquillity which builds throughout your stay--and beckons to you after you’ve arrived back home!'

'Chassenat is a little paradise for both small and larger groups. The house is spacious and comfortable. The tasteful decoration, spacious dining and living room, the good food and privacy means that the house is not only pleasant to stay in the summer, but also in other seasons.'

And what a perfect idea turned out to be!!

"We were here for our autumn holiday and it was just great. There was something for everyone; adults and children. It's like staying in a cool castle. We also had really nice warm weather. Thanks."

"Last summer we rented the house with some friends. It was a very pleasant stay! We were impressed with the space. We had young children who could play safely in the courtyard. The facilities were good and we were very well received by the knowledgeable manager. An exceptional week!"

Chassenat was a special experience! We rented the house and the cottage with our entire family + one (11 persons) aged 8 to 68 years. For all ages there was something to play with and enjoy. There are also plenty of nice pleasant places where one can “hide” and have time alone. We think it offers a very safe place for younger children to play. For example, you can close the gate to the pool area. Overall, Chassenat is well worth it!"

"What a fabulous house – even prettier than the photos! The whole property is stunning and beautifully maintained. It is in an idyllic location in the Dordogne countryside – a great base to explore the Périgord Vert. Our kids especially loved the trampoline, piano and attic room. Karen was a great host, and there was good communication before and during our stay. This was our first Airbnb experience and it was a fantastic one. It was a real privilege to stay in such a wonderful place. I can not recommend this house enough!"

"We've had the time of our lives in a beautiful setting. The mansion is very user-friendly and atmospheric. The love with which it was built and now maintained just radiates from the house. In real life it is even more beautiful than the pictures. We were overwhelmed by it all. The pool is also very user-friendly and we enjoyed it immensely."

"The 12 bridge players of the club Lombard Bridge in Rotterdam had a very pleasant week at Chateau Chassenat. What a fantastic house, what a fantastic cottage, what a lovely garden, a beautiful pool. In the evening, the dining room was transformed into a bridge room and hefty competition took place throughout our the length of our stay. A real advantage for us was that house and garden are large enough that there is room to separate from the group if desired. We enjoyed it entirely and were impressed by the wonderful location. We felt like “God in France.” It is certainly worth a repeat visit."

"A wonderful week in the early spring spent in Chassenat. A great place to come to get away from the worries of the rainy Netherlands. The house, the garden and the estate environment ensures that you can play as “God in France.” Unfortunately, it was over far too quickly."

"What a lovely place you have made of Chassenat. Three families stayed last week and enjoyed the house, the garden, the pool and the trampoline. It was really marvellous! Thanks also for the helpful folder containing information about the house and its surroundings. We've never experienced such a friendly tone of voice in a folder!"

"The twelve of us had a fantastic week in this special house, in a great setting. What a garden! We also enjoyed the ping pong table, games in the attic and the fish pond. Everyone from age one to 70 years had something to do! It is not only a beautiful home in a wonderful environment. It also has a special atmosphere, created by the tasteful but not pretentious decor, which makes you feel right at home in Chassenat."

"What a wonderful place, Chassenat! The map directions described it as "arrival in paradise"... and that is not a word too much! From the first tour around the house, everyone was excited. Enormously nice house, beautiful and stately rooms, space and tranquility all around, countless possibilities for dinner, drink, talk, sports and games. Any plans to go away were put on the back burner and we actually spent the whole week in Chassenat with the consequences of relaxation, great memories and countless lovely photos. We've told everybody about our family week in Chassenat."
